PLAYLIST: Spotify - Resurrection Sunday
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 28:1-10
IMAGINE: Read verse 8 again. Imagine the women’s excitement! Picture their faces and their conversation as they RUN back to tell the disciples what has happened. What do you think it was like? What was going through their minds? What did their faces look like?
CONSIDER: Read verse 2 again. We call our youth group “The Epicenter”, it’s the center of change, and also the center of an earthquake. In the Bible, earthquakes often happen at times of great change or powerful miracles. In this case, it’s the resurrection of Jesus Christ form the dead. Consider again the phrase, “shaking the world from the inside out.” Jesus was raised from death to life, and now invites us to do the same, to be transformed from the inside out. That is The Epicenter, the starting point of change that ripples outwards and affects everything around you. We are raised from death to life, for more life.
PRAY: For us as Christians, each and every day we get to live in the reality of the resurrection. Just as Jesus was raised from dead to life. We have been raised from death to life. You and I are called to put our old self to death and to live a new life in Jesus. Read Colossians 3:1-5. Pray and ask Jesus to fix your mind and heart on heavenly things and ask Jesus to put to death any earthly and sinful things in your life. Go and live not as one who is dead, but one who is alive!
