PLAYLIST: Spotify - Saturday
SCRIPTURE: Matthew 27:57-65
IMAGINE: Imagine you are Joseph, Mary or any of the disciples on Saturday morning after you just buried Jesus in a tomb and rolled a stone in front of it. Jesus is dead. Your friend, your brother your son, your teacher, is dead. Buried. After 3 years of Teaching and miracles, he’s gone. What would you be feeling on that Saturday morning?
CONSIDER: Jesus is dead and buried. But tomorrow he will rise. The bible uses death as an illustration for how we should treat sin. Just as Jesus died and was buried, you and I are called to “be dead to sin” and “put death” whatever is sinful. Considering Jesus death, consider what it would look like to fully and completely put sin to death in your life.
PRAY: Ask Jesus to put to death sin in your life. Ask his Holy Spirit to cleanse you and raise you to new life. Invite him to kill of anything in you that is not good for you. Invite him to kill of anything anything that does not glorify God. Ask him to raise you to new life, to give you a new heart, new mind, new attitude, and new everything.
